Welcome to my new blog
June 23, 2008
Finally I'm back in blogging business, yeah! In this article a quickly introduce myself and explain what awaits you in this blog.
Welcome to my new blog. I'm really happy beeing able to post to the world again. Before I start blogging, I quickly want to introduce myself. I am a 24 years old student of Media Informatics located in Ulm, south Germany. Currently, I attend the 10th semester of this design and human-interaction as well as internet technology focussed study course. Recently, I had the chance to work for 8 month at Magnolia in Basel, Switzerland, a pretty smart company creating the same-named open source enterprise content management system. I worked there as a junior Java software developer and interaction designer, however now I am back at the university life for again one year.
During the last week I just quickly created a simple design and tried several approaches getting a blog up and running quickly. Well, the simplest one was to use Apache Roller, a java-based blogging tool that is used by big parties in the Java community. It seems to be very simple, yet powerful enough to suite the normal blogger's needs.
So, what will I post in this blog? Well, first of all this blog is about Java related technologies, design/usability and ideas or contributions from my daylife work such as my the one for Magnolia. I already have some articles somewhere spread in the eecoo space which I finally want to publish. Those articles are mostly about Java EE related technologies, but there is also one about the Microsoft .Net Workflow Foundation. Also a new article about the Java module system OSGi is in the pipe, one of those papers I wrote as part of my student job at the University of Ulm, Germany. Unfortunately, there is a lot of work to do, so I can't promise to post things at a certain date. So, please just come back or subscribe to this blog's RSS feed to stay up-to-date.
Hopefully you'll get some insights of my thoughts and my work by reading my articles. If not ask questions, give comments or just tell me what you think. Any feedback and input is pretty much appreciated.
Thanks a lot visiting my site!
Cheers,
Vivian Steller
